Agency representatives discussed the planning process, including researching and developing policies, funding, installed technology and what is needed to ensure a secure telework technology infrastructure, required pre- and post-pilot program training for employees and managers, and how the organization measured pilot results.

    The "How Technology Enables Government Telework" Webcast highlighted two Federal agencies at different stages in their telework implementation process. Representatives from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) spoke about the current state of telework and where they are looking to take telework within their agency in the future, with particular emphasis on telework technologies.

    Telework Exchange, Cisco, and WebEx hosted a Webcast, titled "Telework and Mobility: Keeping Teleworkers Secure" on June 10, 2008. It focused on the security aspects of telework and methods to ensure reliable secure remote access for the mobile workforce. Data security is a top priority and is top of mind for agency professionals, however, concerns about data protection should not be used as an excuse to hinder telework adoption. With proper training, support, and equipment, mobile workers do not pose a data security threat.

    Thank you to all who submitted a nomination for the 2013 Mobile Work Exchange Tele-Vision Awards. Winners were announced at a ceremony during the Spring Town Hall Meeting on April 30.

    Attendees earned degrees in mobilology at the 13th semi-annual Spring Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the D.C. Convention Center. The all-day training studied the rise in telework, mobile work, and how to ensure your workforce is secure on-the-go.
